Michael S. Horton
Dr. Michael Horton is Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Sola Media and serves as the J. Gresham Machen Professor of Systematic Theology and Apologetics at Westminster Seminary California.
Dr. Horton is the author of more than 30 books, and has written nearly 200 articles for Modern Reformation, as well as numerous essays in published volumes, articles in peer-reviewed journals, and internationally renowned books. He is frequently asked to speak and lecture around the world. Dr. Horton is the recipient of multiple honors and awards, including Christianity Today’s “Book of the Year” for Theology/Ethics and WORLD’s top 40 books. He is the author of the award-winning books The Christian Faith: A Systematic Theology for Pilgrims on the Way, Christless Christianity, People and Place, a two-volume work Justification, and most recently the first volume of a three-volume series titled, “Shaman and Sage.”
Dr. Horton has been a Visiting Professor for various institutions, including Ligonier Academy and Reformed Theological Seminary. He was previously President of The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals and Christians United for Reformation. He holds membership in the American Academy of Religion, the Evangelical Theological Society, and the Royal Institute of Philosophy.
Dr. Horton completed postdoctoral studies as a Research Fellow at Yale Divinity School, a Ph.D. from Coventry University in partnership with Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University, an M.A.R. from Westminster Seminary California, and a B.A. from Biola University. Dr. Horton lives in Escondido, CA and serves as a minister in the United Reformed Churches (URCNA).
