Theo Global East Africa 2025

TG2025-Banner-FINAL

In the second century, Irenaeus wrote in Against Heresies “gloria enim dei vivens homo” that “life in man is the glory of God.”

Theo Global’s 2025 symposiums worldwide will focus on Theological Anthropology. Our 2025 symposiums will be titled “The Crown of Creation: Humanity, the Image of God, and the Fall.”  We will investigate and discuss the church’s understanding from biblically-based perspectives.

ABOUT

Theo Global fosters unprecedented theological conversations among leading scholars throughout the majority world through collaborations, symposiums, and publications focused on theological topics essential for the growing global church.

Through our annual symposiums, we gather brothers and sisters who teach in seminaries and Bible colleges all around the world. Our current annual events now engage and cross-pollinate scholarship from South Asia, East Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East/North Africa regions.

WHEN

Wednesday, July 16 - Friday, July 18, 2025

WHO

This conference is specifically designed for Doctors of the Church. Applicants must be theologians or scholars holding (or currently pursuing) a doctoral degree in a related field. We seek participants from a broad range of Protestant and Evangelical Churches and we strongly encourage female scholars to apply.

We are very excited that this year’s colloquium will include lectures from a collection of leading theologians from across East Africa and other parts of the world.

COST & REGISTRATION

There will be no registration cost for the 2025 symposium. Travel and accommodation costs for approved participants are fully sponsored.

CALL FOR PAPER PROPOSALS:

Theo Global invites you to present a proposal (or encourage a colleague to) for a paper and presentation related to the conference theme. The conference will include 8 paper presentations that will be selected from the proposals. Topics should include biblical and/or theological approaches to the topic as it relates to doctrine, culture/context engagement, the global church, and biblical interpretation. It should also explore practical applications of this theological topic and doctrine in the church’s worship and in people’s lives.

Paper proposals should be 2-4 paragraphs in length. Proposals and questions may be submitted to Adam Smith at info@theoglobal.org by April 1, 2025. Proposal submissions will be notified shortly thereafter. Approved paper presenters will receive 30 minutes to give their presentation at the symposium, which will be followed by a discussion and Q&A session. Presenters will receive a modest honorarium.
