POSITION SUMMARY

Sola Media is seeking an enthusiastic, full-time service-oriented Marketing Manager.. As the Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies to drive growth, enhance brand visibility, and achieve organizational objectives. You will collaborate cross-functionally and analyze market trends to position Sola Media competitively.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about reaching broader audiences and connecting them to Sola’s various gospel-proclaiming resources. The Marketing Manager will adapt well to a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and will be excited about learning new digital marketing technologies and developing marketing strategies. This key person plays a vital role in the ongoing efforts of our content and production teams by serving our audiences in over 200 countries with consistent, accessible, and trustworthy resources.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for providing marketing support in 3 key areas:

  • Strategic Marketing
  • Digital Marketing
  • Partnership and Stakeholder Management

LOCATION  |  SAN DIEGO, CA
SALARY  |  $65k – $75K annually, based on qualifications; full benefits package included.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Marketing: Collaborate with internal teams/departments to develop marketing strategies with clear objectives that align with the Sola Media’s mission and vision. Coordinate, execute, and maintain strategic marketing plans and activities for each production of Sola Media, including tailored user experiences that increase content usage/engagement, event planning and exhibiting at promotional events. Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify opportunities for growth. Maintain branding standards and guidelines.  

Digital Marketing: Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to make content accessible and visible to current and new audiences. This includes strategies related to SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing. Create/design digital assets as needed according to branding standards, such as digital & print resources, graphics, web content, etc. Monitor online presence, analyze web traffic metrics, and optimize user experience across digital platforms. Collect and analyze user data and advertising material in order to facilitate increased engagement and web traffic across all brands. 

Partnership and Stakeholder Management: Cultivate relationships with strategic partnerships and conduct outreach efforts with churches, seminaries, radio stations, and other relevant organizations. to expand reach and content distribution. Collaborate cross-functionally with development and other departments to ensure alignment and support marketing initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree.
  • Experience and proclivity working in WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and email marketing platforms. This person will have opportunities and an intentional posture of continuing to learn and add competencies with new and changing media platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience writing marketing copy is preferred.
  • Candidates for this position should have experience using software programs such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills: develop realistic action plans, prioritize tasks around schedules and deadlines, manage time effectively
  • Possess strong attention to detail. Follows detailed policies and procedures.
  • Budget-management skills and proficiency
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
  • Works effectively as part of a team; listening to, interacting with, and accepting ideas from teammates and stakeholders. Able to communicate effectively across all brands and departments.
  • Works effectively independently; prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, follows guidance, and completes assigned tasks completely, correctly and on time, identifies solutions, and develops realistic action plans.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment and plans; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Essential computer skills: Proficient use of MS Suite, particularly Word and Excel; mail merges; email and web searches. Able to type 45 wpm.

  • The individual should be a member in good standing in a Bible-believing church, preferably from a reformational heritage.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear.
